User count, internet links, VPN users and the protections you will switch on decide the model. We size on throughput with all security features enabled, not on the headline number.

Policy design
Rules written around your business: who can reach what, which applications are allowed, and separate zones for servers, users, guests and CCTV.

Deployment and migration
Installed in a planned window, with existing rules reviewed and cleaned up, dual-ISP failover configured, and branch and remote-user VPN tested.

Handover and upkeep
Configuration backup, named administrator accounts, logging and reports set up, with firmware updates and licence renewals tracked under AMC.
Buyer's checklist
What to check in any firewall quote
- Is the throughput quoted with all security features switched on (threat protection throughput)?
- Are the subscription licences for IPS, web filtering and antivirus included, and for how many years?
- Is there a second unit for high availability if the internet is business-critical?
- Does the model support your number of VPN users and branch tunnels?
- Who reviews the logs and applies firmware updates after installation?

Firewall Deployment: common questions
Which firewall brands do you deploy?
Fortinet FortiGate is our most common deployment, and we also work with Cisco. We size the model to your users, internet links and the security features you plan to run.
Do we need a firewall if every computer has antivirus?
Yes. Antivirus protects individual computers. A firewall protects the whole network, including devices that cannot run antivirus, such as cameras, printers and machines, and it controls access between departments and from outside.
Can remote staff and branch offices connect securely?
Yes. We configure encrypted VPN for remote users, with multi-factor login where the firewall supports it, and site-to-site tunnels so branch offices work as one network.
