Fire Alarm Systems: common questions
Addressable or conventional fire alarm: which do we need?
A conventional system shows which zone is in alarm and suits smaller buildings. An addressable system identifies the exact detector, which saves crucial minutes in larger or multi-floor premises and makes maintenance easier.
How often should a fire alarm system be tested?
It should be checked regularly and serviced on a schedule, with periodic functional tests and a full inspection at least once a year. We set out the schedule at handover and can cover it under an AMC.
Can the fire alarm connect to access control and CCTV?
Yes. The panel can release access-controlled doors on alarm and trigger alerts, and cameras can be linked so the affected area is seen immediately.
